Card of Thanks
Ruby Joyce Feltham

The family of the late Ruby Joyce Feltham of Pasadena would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported her during her illness and offered comfort to us in our time of loss. We deeply appreciate the sympathy shown through your visits to the funeral home, floral tributes, sympathy cards, and charitable donations. To all who visited our home, provided food, made phone calls, sent texts, and reached out through social media—your kindness will never be forgotten. We also send a sincere thank you to everyone who shared prayers and words of love during these difficult days.

Our special thanks go to Reverend Jocelyn Cook, who was always there when we needed her, and to Dr.  Nancy Barker, Ruby’s family physician, along with the cancer care team including Doctors Rorke, Park, and Healey, as well as all the nurses and staff at the Cancer Care and Palliative Care Units. Your professionalism and kindness meant so much and will be remembered.

To everyone who attended the funeral service, we extend our heartfelt thanks. We are especially grateful to Reverend Cook who organized and facilitated the Service of Remembrance and Celebration for the life of Ruby; to Dave Tucker for his musical contributions, to our niece Lauren Brinson for reading scripture, and to our friends George Hillier and Stan Pike. George played the piano and sang The Wind Beneath My WIngs, while Stan, accompanied by George, played guitar and sang On the Far Side Banks of Jordan.

A heartfelt thank you to the Humber Valley United Church Women and the Humber Valley Senior Citizens Club for organizing food, volunteers, and a space for family and friends to gather after the funeral. Your kindness and support have meant so much to our family during this challenging time.

We are also grateful to Fillatre’s Funeral Home for their compassion and professionalism during these difficult days.
While we cannot thank everyone personally, please know that every act of kindness and friendship is deeply appreciated. Thank you all, and may God bless you.

Charlie, Jason, Anthony, David, and Families

In the presence of her husband, Ruby passed peacefully on October 28, 2024. Despite enduring nearly three years of tremendous suffering from pancreatic cancer, Ruby remained steadfast in her character, values, and strong faith, never allowing her illness to define her.

Ruby leaves behind her devoted husband of over 52 years, Charles; her beloved sons Jason (Liz) of Calgary, Anthony (Terri) of Edmonton, and David of Corner Brook; and her cherished grandchildren, Reuben John, Levi Charles, Joni Ray, Clara Blue, and Isaac Charles. Ruby is also survived by her loving siblings, Marie (Roy) Trickett, Don (Marie) Brinson, Elizabeth (Eric) Feltham, Marilyn (Melvin) Hindy, Lloyd (Karen) Brinson, and Lisa (Walter) Wicks, her sisters-in-law Shirley (Lloyd) Easton and Marilyn Feltham, her kind and caring nephew Robert Easton, along with many other dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, neighbours, and acquaintances.

Predeceased by her parents, Stephen and Ethel Brinson, and grandparents Richard and Tamar Hussey and John and Irene Powell; her parents in-law, Reuben and Millicent Feltham, her sister Irene Lee, brothers-in-law Reuben Feltham Jr., Sandy Feltham and James Lee. Ruby is now reunited with those who were before her.

A whiz at word games, puzzles, and TV trivia shows like Scrabble, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, Ruby’s quick intellect and wit will be missed by all who enjoyed those moments with her.

Her strength, integrity, and unwavering values, always, but particularly so throughout her illness, are lasting gifts she leaves to all who knew her. Ruby will be remembered too for her kindness, warmth, and respect for others. The love she so generously shared as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend continues to guide and inspire us. Though she is no longer with us, the beauty of her spirit remains, living on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 6 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Humber Valley United Church in Pasadena with Rev. Jocelyn Cook officiating.

A donation may be made in Ruby’s memory to the Western Health Care Foundation.

A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and other health care persons who were part of Ruby’s life these past few years. You are very special people whose compassion and professionalism will not be forgotten.

“Forever in Our Hearts.”
