Card of Thanks

The family of the late Derek Hicks would like to extend our gratitude towards all who supported both Derek and his family during this difficult time.

To all who were able to attend the visitation and/or funeral for Derek, as well as those who were unable to attend, we want to thank you for all your love and support. Your words, hugs, and presence at these times will not be forgotten. We are so grateful for the cards, beautiful flower arrangements, and stories about Derek shared with us. To those who delivered food to the family, we thank you for taking the time to think of us and remove the weight of preparing meals during this time.

To those who donated to the NL West SPCA in honour of Derek, we appreciate you, as we know he would be so happy with your generous donations.

To the doctors, nurses, and social worker at both the 5th floor and Palliative Care Unit at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, we are forever grateful for the wonderful care you provided Derek, as well as the grace and compassion you provided us.

To Rev. Jocelyn Cook, thank you for delivering Derek’s funeral service.

Finally, a large thank you to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, especially Mindy, for guiding us through this time of grief.

With much appreciation,

Marion, Darren, Terralynn, Sheldon, and families
