Passed peacefully away at his home in Forteau on November 7th, 2024 at age 77, Joe Wissler. Leaving to mourn his wife Heather, daughter Motlatsi and grandson Kaelan Matthews of Calgary, Alberta, brother Rick (Kathy) of Pittsford, NY, brother-in-law Warren (Joy) of Mt. Pearl, sisters-in-law Lynne Cook (Bob) of Halifax, Sandra Perry (Brian) of Comox, BC, aunt Naomi of Ridgecrest, California, cousins and niece and nephew in the United States and a large circle of friends. Pre-deceased by his mother Mary and father Richard, and uncle Bill Norris.
Joe served as the social worker for over 25 years in Labrador until his retirement in 2013. The Straits area of Labrador stole his heart and he loved it and the people dearly, choosing to stay in Forteau after his retirement. He continued to serve on the Homecare Board.
Burial service to be held at the United Church Cemetery, Forteau, on Saturday November 9th at 11:00 a.m.
