It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sheila Marie Travers announce her passing on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Corner Brook Long Term Care at the age of 78 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband of 60 years James; children: Debbie (Bruce), Rick (Lisa) and Jerry (Sherry); grandchildren: Jimmy, Adam, Travis, Richard (Vicky), Reggie (Kasandra), Tiffany (Robert), Calla (Tyson), Lacey (Ryan) and Tyler (Morgan); as well as numerous great-grandchildren; sisters: Mary and Madeline (Keith); brothers and sisters-in-law: Anne Marie, Don (Brenda), Paul (Barbara), Ralph (Fronie), John (Betty), Noreen (David), Richard, Isreal and Lorraine; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Florence Power, sisters Hanna (Ted), Dorothy and Meta (Brian), brother Gordon, parents-in-law Leon and Eileen Travers, sisters-in-law Sylvia and Hazel, brother-in-law David.

A very special thank you to the Doctors, nurses and staff at Corner Brook Long Term Care for their exceptional care and compassion.

Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Monday from the hours of 7-9 p.m. and continuing at St. James Anglican Church in Lark Harbour on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. from where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 13 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Effie Organ officiating. Interment to follow at the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
