Obituary of Bernice Penashue Benuen

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Bernice Penashue Benuen announce her passing on Friday, November 22^nd, 2024, at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s, NL, at the age of 50 years.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her Husband: Edmund Benuen; Parents: Julianna & Robin Hill; Children: Bianca Penashue, Hillary Penashue, Lya Penashue, Chrisma Penashue, Shaylee Penashue, & Tshetshuk Benuen; Grandchildren: Kendra Penashue, Mary Janet Pokue, & Shushepin Rich; Brothers: Robin Penashue & Clinton Martin; Sisters: Tamarah Hill, Shirley Hill, Barbara Penunsi, Helen Penashue, Beatrice Clowe, Ann Philomena Penashue, Christine Jack, Cathy Arnold, & Karen Penashue; Biological Mother: Martha Penashue. As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Bernice is predeceased by her Sisters: Mary Janet Hill & Brenda Penashue; and Biological Father: Paul Penashue.

Friends and family may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Happy Valley-Goose Bay on Tuesday, November 26^th between the hours of 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm. A wake will take place on Wednesday, November 27^th at 13 McKenzie Dr, Sheshatshiu, NL, beginning at 2:00pm.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 28^th at 11:00am from the CYN in Sheshatshiu, NL, with Pastor McAuley Officiating.
