Joyce Marilyn Allen
November 10, 1943 – December 5, 2024
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joyce Allen, nee Gillette announce her peaceful passing on December 5, 2024, surrounded by her family at the Palliative Care Unit in Corner Brook, at the age of 81 years.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Eric of 62 wonderful years. Children; Jeff (Gayle), Paul (Judy), Mike (Tammy). Her precious grandchildren Jordan Allen (Sarah), Erika Critchley (Ryan), Laura Allen (Eric), Michaela Allen (Luke), Megan Allen (Cody). Great grandson William Critchley. Sisters and brothers; Irving Gillette (Leona), Yvonne Bagnall (Grant), Gwen Gillette, Cheryl Gillette. Brother-in-laws; Bud Allen (Gertie), Floyd Allen. Sister-in-laws Lorena Monette (Don), Ann Davies, Eva Allen, Pat Allen. As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends.
She is predeceased by her parents Jack and Olga Gillette. Mother and Father-in-law Mary and Robert Allen. Sister Joan Thistle (Guy), brothers Dave Gillette and Reg Gillette. Brother and sisters-in-law Frazer Allen, Herb Davies, Valda Allen, Neta Allen, and Wally Legge.
Joyce shared so much love for her grandchildren who were her pride and joy and whom she was so proud of. Joyce lived a very fulfilling life with many memories surrounded by her family. Joyce was an active church member, active in the ACW and local seniors club. We as a family, were so lucky to have known such a loving and incredible woman and will be forever grateful for the time we were given with her and every memory we had.

As per her wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Fillatre's Funeral Home in Curling on Sunday December 8th, at 2:00pm - 4:00pm, and 7:00pm - 9:00pm. Funeral service will be at St. Mary's Anglican church in Curling, Monday December 9th at 2:00pm with Rev. Cynthia Haines Turner officiating.
Donations in honor of Joyce’s memory can be made to St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Curling or to the Alzheimer’s Society.
