HACKETT Edward Michael Benoit's Cove, NL Nov. 22, 1931 - July 16, 2010 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Edward Hackett announce his passing on Friday, July 16th, 2010 at the Long Term Care Facility, Corner Brook, at the age of 78 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and precious memories his loving wife Philomena (nee O'Keefe); 7 children: Rose Fudge(Don), Audrey Hackett (Brian), Carol Ann Hickey (Jack), Brian Hackett (Suzanne), Ruth Hillier (Brian), Edward Hackett Jr. (Josephine), Cory Hackett (Patricia); 17 grandchildren: Angela, Jason, Brad, Jeff, Amanda, Nicole, Michael, Matthew, Jessica, Philip, Kyle, Sean, Jenna, Laura, Robyn, Brooke and Ryan; 2 great-grandchildren: Alexis and Cameron; 8 brothers; 3 sisters; special friend Dorothy Shephard, as well as a large circle of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by father Michael and Mother Rose; step-mother Bride; brothers: Ronald and Ignatius; sisters: Regina and Rona; special aunts: Veronica "Noanie" and Mary Ann "Molly"; special friends Ben and Cedella Hackett. Special thanks to Dr. Obeid, the nursing staff of WMRH 6th Floor and 3rd Floor South Long Term Care Facility. Your dedication and caring for Ed, as well as your unfailing support for our family was truly remarkable. Your efforts have meant more than you could ever imagine. God Bless You. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Saturday 7-9 p.m. and Sunday between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will take place at Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Parish, Benoit's Cove on Monday, July 19th at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the RC Cemetery. Fr. Bernard Buckle officiating. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to Our Lady Star of the Sea New Cemetery Fund.
