Obituary of Robert James Rowe
Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
“Robert (Bob) James Rowe was born April 29, 1959, in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. He proudly served in the military, completing a full career before transitioning to a second career with Serco, where he worked until his retirement in 2018. Bob’s dedication and hard work were evident in both his military service and his time at Serco.
Bob’s sense of humour was legendary. He had an incredible ability to make everyone around him laugh with his clever, at times, dry jokes. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Sharon of 45 years, and a loving father to their daughters, Maegan, Kathryn, and Christine. Bob was immensely proud of his family and their accomplishments. He valued the time they spent together and took great pride in their achievements, always supporting them in their endeavours even if he didn’t fully understand them.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; their daughters, Maegan (Steve), Kathryn (Chris), and Christine; his grandchildren, Oliver and Harvey; his mother, Louise; his siblings, Rick (Jude), Ray (Mar), Lynn, Paul (Dawn), Roxanne, and Sheri; his sister-in-laws, Sandra (Brent) and Kathryn; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He is predeceased by his brother Randy and mother-in-law Marguerite.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at Da Shed Pub on December 27, 2024 from 5-7pm, where all are welcome to gather for a Dominion ale in his memory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund.
Bob (or Rob to his mother and siblings) will be remembered for his humour, kindness, and the joy he brought to everyone who knew him. His legacy of laughter and love will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those who had the pleasure of raising a glass with him.”
