MARY MERCEDES

October 25, 1923 – December 24, 2024

Corner Brook, NL

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 24^th, 2024,at the Palliative Care Unit at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, Mercedes Wells  in her 102^nd year with  family by her side. 

Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children, Monica Wells, Randy Wells (Joan), Deborah Wells Smith (David) and Rosemary Bartlett (David); grandchildren Terri-Lynn Wells, Jeffrey Wells, Matthew Wells, Victoria Wells Smith (Lawrence), Josiah Bartlett, Grace Elliott (Jon); great  grandchildren Rebecca King, Emma King, Michael Normore Wells, Harrison Wells and great great grandchildren Catherine Mercedes, Vera Ann, Poppy Megdellon and Hayes Gerard; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives  and friends. She is predeceased by her parents Edward and Mary (Delaney); husband William Nelson Wells, siblings Joseph, Jack, Ethel, Maurice, Mary (Mamie), Josephine, William and Dominic;  great grandson Kai Barron, and son-in-law Richard Pieklo.

Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Thursday, December 26^th from 2-4 pm. The funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 27^th at 10:30 AM from Sacred Heart Parish in Curling with Father Lee Lainey officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery.  As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Sacred Heart Parish.
