PETER HENRY MATHEWS Norris Point, NL September 7, 1922 - July 25, 2010 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Peter Mathews announce his passing on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook at the age of 87 years. He leaves to mourn his brother Frank Mathews; his children: Marie Mathews, Ruth (Melvin) Flynn, Betty Anne (Sam) Fequet, Carol (Ian) O’Brien, John (Carmelita) Mathews and Ken (Debbie) Mathews; 8 grandchildren: Jeremy, Anne Marie, Sarah, Danielle, Karen, Jonathan, Timothy and Stephen; 7 great-grandchildren, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Blanche and his brother Stephen. Visitation will take place at the Rocky Harbour Gospel Hall on Monday from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 1-6 p.m., with the funeral service taking place on Wednesday, July 28 at 10:30 a.m. at the Rocky Harbour Gospel Hall. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of the 3B and Palliative Care Unit, Western Memorial Regional Hospital, who so compassionately cared for our father and for us as well.
