WILLIAMS, Richard (Dick) Wilfred
Corner Brook, NL
August 1, 1938 – December 28, 2024
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Dick Williams announce his passing on Saturday, 28 December 2024 at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Facility in Corner Brook at the age of 86 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children: Susan (Lee), David, Ken (Jackie), Rick (Helen), Paul (Geraldine) and Marylynn (Gord); grandchildren: Gennie, Wendy, Robyn, Kayla, Jordan, Alisha, Mason, Myka, Richard, Debbie, Emma, Daphne, Stephanie, William and Nathan; 18 great-grandchildren: brother: Wallace (Bernice): Sisters: Joan (Val) and Isabel; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Mary Williams (Pennell): his parents Bill and Catherine Williams, his father-in-law Bryant Pennell, mother-in-law Emma Pennell, and brother Robert Williams.
Dick was well known for his love to chat with anyone, especially about sports and his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs and L.A. Dodgers. He was quick to tease anyone and had a great sense of humor. To provide for his family, he worked for 37 years at Corner Brook Pulp and Paper and spent most of his retirement years at his favorite spot, his cabin, walking his dogs and watching sports.
Special thanks to the wonderful staff at the Corner Brook Long-Term Care Facility, 2 North, for their compassion and professionalism in supporting Richard for the last 2 years.
All are invited to attend the celebration of Dick’s life planned for this spring at his cabin at Slab Pond (Gallants) on Saturday, 17 May 2025.
