Obituary of Wilson Chris Montague

Please share a memory of Wilson to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Chris Montague, on December 28th, 2024, just 4 days after his 76th birthday.
Dad passed at long-term care, surrounded by his loving family after a long, uphill battle with Parkinsons disease.  Despite having this difficult illness, Dad's positive attitude, quick whit, humor and unwavering faith was present the whole way through.

He is pre-deceased by his mother Mary and father Harvey. His brothers Clayton and Edmund and his nephew Craig.

He leaves to mourn, his wife of 36 years, Sheila, son Christopher and daughters Laura (Chris) and Lissa.  His two beloved grandsons Jackson and Charles.
Brother Lloyd (Barb), and sisters Nina (Ron), Karen (George-deceased) and Mary (Max-deceased), Jeanne (Bob). And sister in-laws Annie and Joyce.  As well as his many nieces and nephews who were all very important to him.

He also leaves special friends Silas and Irene Bird whose friendship he greatly treasured along with a wide circle of extended family and friends, who will all be feeling this loss after having the privilege of knowing him.

Our Dad was a man of many passions. He found joy in the art of chess and the camaraderie of card games, using these moments not only to entertain but also to connect deeply with friends and family.
He dedicated 28 years of his life to teaching, touching countless lives with his passion for learning and his genuine care for his students.

Also equally important to him, our Dad devoted many years of his life to the development of the NunatuKavut Community Council. Preserving his heritage was a fundamental part of who he was.
Dad was a man who loved connecting with people. Whether through a friendly chat at the local store or a heartfelt conversation with a neighbor, he had a way of making everyone feel heard and valued.
A lover of nature, Dad found joy in the simple beauty of the outdoors. His garden was a testament to his patience and care, it was not hard to see his love for the earth and his appreciation for its quiet gifts.
