David Carter

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Carter on Tuesday, Jan 14, 2025, at Western Long-Term Care, Palliative Unit at the age of 84 years.

Dave will be fondly remembered for his love of family, being in the woods either hunting, cutting wood, rabbit catching, or bird hunting. He was obsessed with collecting fishing lures and fishing rods.

He leaves behind his amazing wife of almost 63 years Maxine (nee Wight); son Craig; daughter Michelle (Dan), and like children of his own John (Tara) and Scott (Kathy); grandchildren Megan, Dakota, Zachary, Shelby, Jessica, Natasha, Derrick, Austin and Katelynn; great-grandchildren Mickayla, Taylor, and Carter;  brothers Derek (Shirley), Dorman (Pauline),  Dwight, and Monty (Shirley); sisters Diane, Mary Lou (Bill), and Ann Marie; sisters in law Myra(Jim), Bonnie, Linda, Francine, Liz, Sandra, and Betty.

Dave was predeceased by parents John Tom and Annie (nee Short) Carter; parents in-law Harvey and Marigold Wight; son Warren; brother Don; sister-in law Viola Carter, in-laws Wayne, Don, Robert, Claude, Victor, Jessie Junior, Tiff, and Jim.

Special word of thanks for Western Palliative Care Unit Doctors and Nurses for the care of Dave and Maxine, and for Diane for her love and support.
