OSCAR GEORGE PENNEY ROCKY HARBOUR, NL (Formerly of Corner Brook, NL) It is with great sadness that the family of the late Oscar Penney announce his passing on Wednesday, July 28th, 2010 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook at the age of 64 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife: Elaine (nee Hackett); two sons: Jared (Julia), Bagotville, QC and Lance, Vancouver, BC; grandchildren: Alexander, Ella and Zoe; brother: Sherman (Cheryl); sister: Pauline Simms (Terry); mother-in-law: Annetta Hackett; brothers and sisters-in-law: Franklin Dawe, Barbara (Frank) Penton, Joseph Hackett, Kathleen (Thor) MacDonald, Jeremiah Hackett, Michael Hackett, Mary Ellen Hackett, William (Martha) Hackett and Caroline (Terry) Carroll; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by his parents: Arthur and Sophie Penney; sister: Palma Dawe and father-in-law: Joseph Hackett. Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Friday from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 31st at 11:00 a.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Home Chapel, St. Mark’s Avenue with Reverend Marilyn Avery officiating. The interment will follow at Mt. Patricia cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Diabetes Association.
