It is with great sadness that the family of the late James Stephen Marsden Sr. announce his peaceful passing on Monday, September 6th, 2010 at Calder Health Center in Burgeo at the age of 91 years. Born at Francois, he was the son of the late John and Elizabeth Marsden. He was predeceased by two daughters: Annie Maude and Doreen Clara; brothers: Jacob and Stewart and sister Hilda. Left with many cherished memories, his loving and devoted wife of 70 years, Irene; children: Shirley (Garland), Douglas (Annie), Norma (Jim), Melvin (Brenda), John (Pat), Kim (Grace), Rex (Daphane) all of Burgeo, Russell (Diane) Plum Point, Marilyn (Brian) Brooks, AB, Marlene (John)Margaree and Wanda (Victor) Ottawa, ON; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sister Maria Beatrice Durnford, Burgeo; sister-in-law Gladys Marsden, Francois and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many close friends. Visitation took place on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 and Wednesday 10-12 at St. John Evangelist Church, Burgeo from where the Funeral Service took place on Wednesday, September 8th at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. George Childs. Interment followed at the Community Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
