Stephenville Crossing MARCH 25, 1931 – SEPTEMBER 11, 2010 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gilbert Thomas Clouter announce his passing on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville, NL at the age of 79 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 54 years Philomena (nee: Cormier); daughter Marie Reardigan of St. John’s; son Ted (Cindy) of Corner Brook. Five granddaughters: Sara Reardigan, Leanne Reardigan, Julie Reardigan, Stacy Clouter, Kayla Clouter. His brothers Ralph, Gander, Wallace (Bernice), Gander, Robert (Friend Tina), St. George’s, Ray (Grace), Brown’s Arm, Baden (Bonnie), Stephenville and one sister Gwen, Carmenville as well as a large circle of friends and relatives. Gilbert was the former Mayor of Stephenville Crossing and also served his community as Fire Chief. He was predeceased by his parents Lemuel and Nora May Clouter and two brothers Calvin and Emerson. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Church, St. Clare Ave. in Stephenville with Rev. Kathryn Eddy officiating. In honouring Gilbert’s final wish he has been cremated at Humber Valley Crematorium and following the Funeral Service he will be taken back to his home town of Carmenville, NL to his final resting place. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital Foundation.
