PIERCE WALTER BLACKWOOD CORNER BROOK, NL It is with great sadness that the family of the late Pierce Blackwood announce his passing on Thursday, October 14th, 2010 at the Health Science Centre, St. John’s at the age of 78 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Marion; children: Sharon Carberry (Mel), Eric (Carol), Derek (Madeline), Brenda Blackwood (Clayton), Elsie Blackwood , Judy Sceviour (Robert) and Tina Pearson; 15 grandchildren: Lori, Cheryl, Philip, Eric Jr, Eric, Jennifer, Brandy, Nicholas, Michelle, Denise, Allen, Amy, Victoria, Daniel, Ashley, Emily and Megan; four great grandchildren: Claire, Emma, Tyler and Chelsey; brother: George Blackwood; as well as other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents: Richard and Elsie Blackwood and brothers and sisters. Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Saturday and Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 19th at 11:00 a.m. from the First United Church, Park Street. Reverend Myles Vardy officiating, followed by interment at Mt. Patricia Cemetery.
