ALICE WHITEHORNE Happy Valley Goose Bay, Labrador (Formerly of Corner Brook) It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alice Whitehorne (nee Purchase) announce her passing on Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010 at the Long Term Care Facility, Labrador Grenfell Health Centre, HVGB at the age of 90 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her sons: Randy (Colleen), Happy Valley Goose Bay, and Kenneth, Toronto, ON; grandsons: Craig (Debbie Denine), Petawawa, ON, Scott (Elaine Mesher, and their children: Cory, Cloe and Clair) and Brad (Alice Adams and their daughter, Mia), HVGB; brothers: Edgar Purchase (Edna), St. John’s, Fred Purchase (Betty), BC; sisters: Gladys Whalen, Baie Verte and Betty Sheppard, Corner Brook; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald, 2006; grandson: Blair; sister: Sadie Watson and brother: Harris Purchase. Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. and on Friday, 10-12 noon. The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 26th at 2:00 p.m. from Oakland United Church, with Reverend Clayton Parsons officiating followed by interment at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes Association.
