Sylvia Mary HICKEY Benoit’s Cove, NL February 25, 1942 - December 16, 2010 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sylvia Hickey announce her passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook on Thursday, December 16th, 2010 at the age of 68 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, husband James; daughters: Yolanda Pennell (Peter) and Lenora Gough (Cory); son Robert; grandchildren: Johnathan, Stephen, Chloe, Celeste and Jasmine; sisters: Jean Wells (Verdon) and Catherine Barrow (Fred); mother Mary Alice McCarthy, as well as a large circle of other relatives and many friends. She was predeceased by her father Daniel McCarthy; sister Stella Crane; brothers: Norman McCarthy and Maurice McCarthy. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Thursday 7-9 p.m. and Friday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will take place at Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish in Benoit’s Cove on Saturday, December 18th at 10:30 a.m. Father Bernard Buckle officiating. Interment will follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
