H. Gerald Mercer Corner Brook, NL March 14, 1930 – March 25, 2018 It is with great sadness that the family of the late H. Gerald Mercer announce his passing on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 88 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 61 years Margaret (nee Cox); daughters: Sharon (Dan) Grant and Barbara (Randy) Copan; daughters-in-law: Patricia Mercer and Deanna Payne; grandchildren: Brandon (Angela), Danielle, Travis and Hayley; step-grandchildren: Venessa, Rebecca and Lorne; sisters: Sylvia White and Marina Mcauley; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his sons George Mercer and Keith Mercer, parents George and Daisy Mercer, brothers Don, Eric and Boyd Mercer, sisters May Gosse and Gloria Mercer. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Wednesday from the hours of 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 29 at 1:00 p.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Chapel, St. Mark’s Avenue with Rev. Jocelyn Cook officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Hemophilia Society of NL.
