DOROTHY IRENE ALTEEN Corner Brook, NL It is with great sadness that the family of the late Dorothy Alteen announces her passing on Wednesday, January 26th, 2011 at Corner Brook Long Term Care Home at the age of 85 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories: her husband of 62 years, Fred; daughter: Linda Carruthers (Dick); sons: Fred Jr. (June), George (Vera Lynn), Paul (Tu) and John (Anna Marie); grandchildren: Lisa (Joe), Aimee, George Jr., Matthew, Katie Lynn and Dianna; brothers and sisters-in-law: Lawrence (Barbara) Alteen, NS, Lou (Elizabeth) Alteen, Corner Brook and Muriel Michael, PEI; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Friday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, January 29th at 2:00 p.m. from The Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer, Mt. Bernard Avenue , Monsignor Edwin Gale officiating. The interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to Western Memorial Hospital Foundation or to the Bay of Islands SPCA.
