Dinah Jane COSSAR Sept. 24, 1905 - Jan. 27, 2011 Passed peacefully away at Dr. Charles L. Legrow Health Centre in Port Aux Basques on Thursday, January 27th, 2011 Dinah Jane Matthews Cossar, formerly of Burgeo, at the grand age of 105 years. She is predeceased by her husbands Capt. Arch Matthews, who was lost at sea in 1943 and Lott Cossar, merchant of Burgeo, 1994, her oldest daughter Melida Hayley, only son Lewis Matthews, second youngest daughter Ruby Drake, grand-daughter Dianne Whalen, former Minister of Municipal Affairs, grandsons Arch, Clayton and Murdock Drake of Halifax, N.S., also special nephew Clarence Moulton, St. John’s. Leaving to mourn are her three daughters Joan Moore, Codroy, Mary (Dan) MacDonald and Cora (Edgar) Lilly, Halifax, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, special friend Mabel Hann, Burgeo, and a large circle of friends. Special thanks to Dr. Husni and staff at the Long Term Care Unit at Legrow Health Centre. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home. Interment will take place in May from Mount Patricia Cemetery, Corner Brook. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Dr. Charles L. Legrow Health Centre Long Term Care.
