Dorothy May Figary Port Aux Basques, NL August 18, 1917 - January 23, 2011 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Dorothy May Figary (nee Hinks) announce her passing on Sunday, January 23rd, 2011 at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port Aux Basques, NL at the age of 93 years. Born at Port Aux Basques, Dorothy was the daughter of the late James Sr. and Lena Hinks. She was predeceased by her first husband Stanley Anderson in 1942 and by her second husband Percy Figary in 1971. Also predeceased by her daughters: Marilyn Foote and Verna Andrews; step-son Robye Figuary; brothers: Joseph, Norman, and James; sisters: Gladys Hinks, Mary Hinks, Bessie Osmond, and Lillian MacPherson. She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories, her loving family: daughter Shirley (nee Anderson) Patey (Paul); daughter-in-law Judy Figuary; sons-in-law: Frank Andrews and Wilson Foote; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sisters: Sybina Meade of Toronto, ON, Vera Forsey and Lena Billard of Port Aux Basques, and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation took place on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Fillatre’s Funeral Home. The Funeral Service took place on Wednesday, January 26th at 2:00 p.m. from Wesley United Church, Port Aux Basques, officiated by Reverend Tara Ann Wilson. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the United Church Memorial Fund, Port Aux Basques.
