Maxwell Norman CURRIE Port Aux Basques, NL September 6, 1930 - May 5, 2011 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Maxwell Norman Currie announce his passing on Thursday, May 5th, 2011 at Dr. Charles L. Legrow Health Centre at the age of 80 years. Maxwell was the son of the late George and Elizabeth Currie. He leaves to mourn his family, sons: David (Angela) Currie, Burgeo, Lloyd (Jennifer) Currie, Dartmouth, NS, Calvin (Rhonda) Currie, Saint John, NB; daughters: Ruby (Willard) Payne, Zama City, AB, Maxine Currie, SK, Diane (John) Collier, Scarborough, ON, Madonna (Derek) Kettle, Codroy Valley, Kay Currie (Jim), Port Aux Basques, Judy (Tony) Merrigan, St. John’s and Tracy Spencer (Paul), Port Aux Basques; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; care giver and friend Christine Lomond, Port Aux Basques, as well as a large circle of friends. He was predeceased by his wife Theresa Mary Currie; daughter Patsy; son Nelson and sister Esther. Visitation took place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port Aux Basques on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service was held on Monday May 9th at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Anglican Church with Rev. Hannah Dicks officiating. Interment followed at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill.
