ROSE ANN BRAKE September 18, 1930 - May 12, 2011 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Rose Ann Brake announce her passing on Thursday, May 12th, 2011 at Bonavista Peninsula Health Care Center at the age of 80 years. She leaves to mourn her family, sons: Joe (Sandra) Brake, South Branch, NL, Frank (Linda) Brake, Tracy, NB, Brian (Margaret) Brake, Doyles, NL, Tom (Marlene) Brake, South Branch, NL, Tony (Jenny) Brake, Petawawa, ON, Ron (Kim) Brake, West Gore, NS; daughters: Mary (Ted) Brake, Lower Sackville, NS, Carol (Ross) MacIsaac, South Branch, NL, Ann (Hilary) Haynes, Catalina, NL, Jackie (Tony) Brake, Gore, NS; 26 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters: Margaret (Bernard) O’Gorman and Theresa Prosser; brothers: Gus (Blanche) Downey, Mike (Ruth) Downey, George (Marie) Downey, Hyacinth Downey and Tom Downey; sister-in-law Winnie; caregiver Judy, and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Carol Joseph Brake; parents John and Maud Downey; brothers: Edward, Raymond and Frank Downey. Friends visited St. Sylvester’s Church in South Branch, NL on May 13th and 14th, from where the Funeral Service was held on Sunday, May 15th, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Maurice O’Quinn officiating. Interment followed at St. Sylvester’s Cemetery, South Branch. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port Aux Basques.
