It is with great sadness that the family of the late Murdock Prosper announce his passing on Thursday, June 30th, 2011 at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Home at the age of 81 years. He is once again united with his loving and devoted wife , Jean (nee Pike). He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children: Stephen (Jean), Ontario, Karen (Andy) Loder, Summerside, Murdock Jr. (Nancy), Ontario, Olga (Dan) Green, Ontario, Bruce (Leeanne), Corner Brook, Pamela (Tim) Schwartzentruber, Ontario, Bertha Prosper Hunt, British Columbia; 17 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; brother: Hector (Eva) Prosper; brothers-in-law: Eric (Betty) Pike and Jim Whiteway; sisters-in-law: Margaret (Danny) McCarthy ,Evelyn (Lloyd) Colbourne, Betty Parsons and Cora Pike; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 55 years, Jean on April 30, 2009; parents: Richard and Bertha Prosper; brothers: Eric and Bill Prosper; sister: Muriel Whiteway and great granddaughter: Sydney Ann Evans. Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 4th at 2:00 p.m. from All Saints Church, Clarence Street, officiated by Reverend Monica Coffin, interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Royal Canadian Legion Building Repair Fund.
