Reta Nichols (nee Guinchard) August 16th 1914 … July 21st 2011 Deer Lake It is with great sadness that the family of the late Reta Nichols announce her passing on Thursday, July 21st, 2011 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, at the age of 96. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her 6 sons: Calvin (Edna), Bruce (Alma), Melvin (Grace), Ivan (Joan); of Deer Lake, Terry (Georgina); Kitchener ON., Wayne (Donna); Scarborough ON., 3 daughters: Alice Kelly; Central City Nebraska, Irene (Gar) Thomas, Sharon (Randy) Goobie; of Deer Lake, son in law Mose Smith, 23 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren, special friend Myrtle Bailey and very special great niece Beverly De Neef; Brampton ON. She was predeceased by her daughter Nellie Smith and her parents Joseph and Mary Guinchard. She was the last surviving member of her family. Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive Deer Lake St on Friday July 22nd from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 23rd at 2:00 p.m. from St Paul’s United Church, officiated by Reverend Dr. Tony Newell, interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery, Wight’s Road. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the St. Paul’s United Church Building Fund.
