It is with great sadness that the family of the late Isaac Verge announces his passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook on Monday, July 25, 2011 in his 90th year, surrounded by his family. He will be greatly missed by his wife Doris (Bugden) of 71 years, whom he dearly loved; daughter Daphne (Gerry) Lush, Pasadena, and son Robert (RoxAnne), St. John’s; brother Ches, Corner Brook; sister-in-law Julia Verge, Random Island; grandchildren: Heidi O’Guntke, Edinburgh, UK and Karl (Angela) O’Guntke, Portugal Cove - St. Phillips; great-grandson Kyle O’Guntke, Portugal Cove - St. Phillips; sister-in-law Mabel Wiseman, Shoal Harbour; nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends. He was predeceased by his parents Leander and Amy Verge, sisters Elizabeth Penney and Annie Beatrice, brother John, parents-in-law James and Grace Bugden, sisters- and brothers-in-law Ethel Bugden, Stella and Don Martin, Gordon Wiseman, Vivian Verge, Fred Leonard, Bill Penney. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Tuesday during the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, July 27 at 10:00 a.m. from the First United Church, Park Street with Rev. Myles Vardy officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers, donations gratefully accepted to the First United Church Redevelopment Fund, the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation or a charity of one’s choice.
