Passed peacefully away on Monday, May 2nd, 2005 at the Interfaith Home, GERTRUDE THERESA GUSHUE at the age of 88. Gertrude was a true pioneer of Corner Brook; the daughter of Abraham & Alice Gushue born in Corner Brook on January 1, 1917 where she grew up and eventually became the owner & operator of the Humberview Inn on Main Street. She will be lovingly remembered by two special nieces Shirley Baird & husband Ray, Doreen Colbourne & husband Albert, and numerous other nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends at the Interfaith Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, May 4th at 10:30 a.m. from The Most Holy Redeemer Cathedral, Mt. Bernard Avenue followed by the interment at Townsite Cemetery. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home 4 St. Marks Avenue Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Interfaith Home Chapel fund.
