It is with great sadness that the family of the late Maynard James “Jim” Goudie announce his passing on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook at the age of 79 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 58 years Genevieve (nee Brake); children: Tina (Bill) Winsor, Suzanne (Brian) Park, Lorne Goudie, Sonia Rice (Michael Sibio), Sandra (Bill) Allain, Alain (John) Jessop and Lori-ann (Conroy) Duncan; grandchildren: Stephen Winsor, Christine (Stephen) House, Robert Park (Erin Schultzad), Amy Lynn Goudie, Lorne Jr. Goudie, Jennifer Goudie (Shawn), Gregory Rice, Matthew Allain, Michael Allain, Stephanie Jessop, C.J. Duncan, Grayson Duncan, Aiden Duncan and Ethan Duncan; great-grandchildren: Mitchell Winsor, Reid House, Noah Park and Link Thompson-Marshall; sister Stella (Bud) Switzer; sisters-in-law: Louise White and Stella (Herman) Parsons; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents James and Sarah Goudie, brothers Jack and George Goudie, sisters Vera Elsworth and Sheila Seith. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, West Street, Stephenville Crossing on Thursday 7-9 p.m. and Friday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 6 at 10:00 a.m. from Assumption Parish, Stephenville Crossing with Father Gerard Patry officiating. Cremation to follow at Humber Valley Crematorium. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
