Robert Francis Allen Nov. 28, 1931 – April 13, 2018 Passed away Friday, April 13th, 2018 Robert Francis Allen in the Palliative Care Unit at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age 86. Robert lived a full and happy life. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family and friends. He treasured the time he spent at his cabin where he could nurture his garden, enjoy the outdoors and share his love for music. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years Melica (nee: Howell), children Gail Allen, Corner Brook, Louise Burns (Clarence), Moncton, NB, Beverley Allen (Harold), Chatham, ON; grandchildren Cory Hann (Tara), Harriston, ON, James Strowbridge (Shawna) Halifax, NS, Tara Jones (Jon) London, ON; great grandchildren Cody, Jordan, Tanner, Brayden, Blake, Jacob, Anthony, Dawn; sisters-in-law Meta Allen- Hynes, Josephine Howell and Ida Howell, as well numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents: George & Martha (Vardy) Allen; brothers: James, Roy, Herbert, Arthur; sisters: Bessie, Mariah, Myrtle, Olive and Nelllie; mother and father-in-law William & Martha (Tiller) Howell, brothers-in-law: Ervin & Wellmore Howell, sister-in-law Marian Ogan. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home 218 Curling Street Saturday and Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 16th at 2:00 pm from St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Curling Street with Archdeacon Ed King officiating followed by the interment at the Mt. Patricia Cemetery Receiving Chapel. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Mazol Shriners.
