It is with great sadness that the family of the late Maud Bennett announce her passing on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at her residence in Corner Brook at the age of 85 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her sons: Lewis, Calgary, Paul (Gussie), Corner Brook and Allen, Boom Siding; daughter Ivy (Brian) King, Corner Brook; daughter-in-law Maureen Bennett, Gillams; 11 grandchildren: Sandra, Stephanie, Stacey, Tracey, Gregory, Stephen, Marc, Weston, Cody, Jo-Anne and Ashley; 11 great-grandchildren; sister Lillian Caravan; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her son Richard, husband Aloysius (Ted), sister Naomi Pennell, brothers Lewis and Bert Ryles, parents Beatrice and Stanley Ryles. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Sunday 7-9 p.m. and Monday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 30 at 10:30 a.m. from the Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer, Mount Bernard Avenue, with Monsignor Edwin Gale officiating. Cremation to follow at Humber Valley Crematorium. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation.
