JOAN MARKS Corner Brook, NL It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joan Marks announce her passing on Wednesday, September 7th, 2011 at Corner Brook Long Term Care Home at the age of 78 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her son: Jim (Beverley), Corner Brook; daughters: Diane Flynn, Corner Brook; and Brenda Leer (Leonard), Grand Prairie, AB ; grandchildren: Jonathan Flynn, Angela Murphy (Ethan), Jimmy Marks (Suzanne), Corner Brook, Michael Marks and Ben Leer, Grand Prairie, AB; great grandchildren: Matthew Marks, Emily Marks, Ryan Murphy and Kate Murphy; sisters: Jean Johnson (Harold), Corner Brook, Ruby Jennix (Dave), California, Shirley Wall and Betty Cuff (Gary), Corner Brook; brothers: Melvin Tipple (Jean) and Walter Tipple (Janet), Corner Brook; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Jim and parents Alice and Ray Tipple. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 9th at 10:30 from All Hallows Roman Catholic Church, Humber Road. Monsignor Edwin Gale officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation, Corner Brook Location. Joan worked and volunteered for many years with the local Cancer clinic, it was very near and dear to her heart.
