Martha Elizabeth Francis Isle Aux Morts, NL July 2, 1924 - August 4, 2011 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Martha Elizabeth Francis announce her passing on Thursday, August 4th, 2011 at Charles LeGrow Health Centre in Port Aux Basques, NL at the age of 87 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children sons: Dorman, Uxbridge, ON, George, Clayton and Garfield, Isle Aux Morts, Samuel, St. John’s, Goward, Grande Prarie, AB; daughters: Loretta, Elizabeth and Karen, Isle Aux Morts; 22 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; 5 daughters-in-law; 2 sons-in-law; sister Priscilla Huelin and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Samuel (August 31, 1995); sister Lorena Billard; brother Garfield Walters; grand-daughter Patti Francis and son-in-law Thomas Delorey. The family received friends at the Holy Spirit Church in Isle Aux Morts on Friday and Saturday from where the Funeral Service took place on Sunday, August 7th at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Reverend Duncan Granter. The interment took place on Tuesday, August 9th at 11:00 a.m. at Hillside Haven Cemetery, officiated by Reverend Kris Gosse. Funeral arrangement have been entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port Aux Basques.
