GERTRUDE SARAH CARTER Deer Lake Manor 1919 - 2011 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gertrude Sarah Carter announce her passing on Monday, September 19, 2011 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook in her 92nd year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Shirley (Cabot) Flynn, Howley, Don (Elaine), Pasadena, Norma (Lewis) Stratton, Pasadena, Linda (Eugene) Gillett, Moreton’s Harbour and Eric (Darlene), Perth, Ont; 17 grandchildren: Todd (Debra), Keith (Rio), Cabot Jr, Jonathan (Tanya), Pamela (Cory), Paul (Nikki), Donna, Deanna (Jason), Victoria (Chad), Darren (Susan), Richard (Sharalee), Michelle (Scott), Rodney (Melissa), William (Kelly), Erin, Jaime and Justin; 18 great-grandchildren; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Abraham J. Carter, sister Bessie, sister-in-law Sarah and brother-in-law George. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Tuesday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 21 at 2:00 p.m. from the First Pentecostal Church, Premier Drive with Pastor Velmer Bessey officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Gideon Bible Society or to the Kidney Foundation.
