It is with great sadness that the family of the late Eli Reid announce his passing on Friday, September 23rd 2011, at the Deer Lake Manor at the age of 88. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Loretta, children: Melvin (Peggy) Reid; Deer Lake, Daphne Fillier; Englee, Ford (Donna) Reid; La Scie, Doyle (Irene) Reid; Deer Lake, Guy (Nancy) Reid, Deer Lake, Phyllis (Wayne) Lodge; Deer Lake, Doreen (Wilson) Osmond; Fort Nelson B.C, Eugene (Debbie) Reid, Ontario, Edna (David) Manuel; Fort McMurray, Dean Reid; Halifax, Frank (Debra) Reid; Deer Lake, 35 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, brothers: Ludwick (Ethel) Reid; Englee, Osbourn (Bessie) Reid; Badger, sisters: Ethel (Headley) Wiseman; Lark Harbour, Dianne (Randolph) Lane; Boyd’s Arm, Joyce (Raymond) Leamon; St Johns, Shirley Simmons; St Johns, and son in law Clarence Penny, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents William and Harriett Reid, daughter Linda Penny, grandson Fred Welshman, son in law Oliver Fillier, brother in law Chesley Simmons, 3 brothers Christopher, Jacob, Benson and sisters Melina and Nora. Friends may visit Fillatres Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 27th at 2:00 p.m. from The Salvation Army Church with Majors Wayne and Betty Ann Pike officiating, with interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Wight’s Road. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Salvation Army organ fund or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
