STELLA “JANE” NEWHOOK May 17, 1924 - September 29, 2011 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Stella “Jane” Newhook announce her passing on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Facility at the age of 87 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her two daughters: Roberta and Wayne Woodman, Cormack; Edwina and Norman Scott, Lisle, Ontario; grandchildren: Dora - Jane and Cory Pittman, Sop’s Arm; Wayne Woodman and Janelle Baker, Corner Brook; Matthew Scott, Welland, Ontario; and Joshua Scott, Barrie, Ontario; two brothers: Robert and Phyllis Forward; Harold and Betty Forward, Carbonear; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and Faith Communities. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon Newhook, parents Robert and Susannah Forward, sisters Rosalie and Ed French, Mavis and Arthur Earle, Frances and Max Earle, brother George Forward and sister-in-law Inez Forward. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive Deer Lake on Friday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Visitation will continue at Maher’s Funeral Home, Placentia on Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 3 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Martin’s Anglican Church in Dunville with Rev’d Canon Roberta Woodman officiating. Interment to follow at St. Martin’s Anglican Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to St. Martin’s Anglican Church c/o Shirley Newhook.
