Passed peacefully away on Sunday, October 30, 2011, Helen Margaret Perry at the Corner Brook Long Term Facility at the age of 87 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughter: Brenda Alteen (Doug); sons: Bill (Susan), David (Evelyn) and Ken (Alison); daughters-in-law: Barb Perry and Pam Walsh; grandchildren: Sydney, Renee, Sarah, Emily, Stephanie, Jennifer (Phillip), Julian, Abigayle, Heather and Stephen; great-grandson: Jack; sister-in-law Marie O’Leary; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Brendan, 2001, sons Don, 2003 and Wayne, 2009, sisters Muriel and Irene, brothers Cyril and Brendan O’Leary. Helen was very devoted to her Faith and Church. Teacher by trade, gifted with a sewing machine. An original Minor Hockey mom - honored by Hockey Canada, seamstress for the Corner Brook Royals. Life member of the Silver Blades figure Staking Club. Volunteer with the Canadian Blood Services for over 30 years and a member of the CWL for over 50 years. A marvelous friend and wonderful neighbour. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 2 at 10:30 a.m. from the Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer, Mount Bernard Avenue. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
