Joan Irene West (nee Davis) Curling, NL December 15, 1924 – November 18, 2011 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joan West announce her passing on Friday, November 18th, 2011 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 86 years. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband, Raymond of 63 years; son: Ernie (Kay), Curling; daughters: Vivian Kelly (Owen), Ottawa, ON and Helena McCallum (Dexter), Halifax, NS; five grandchildren: Wayne (Jolene), Naomi, Peter (Natalie), Colleen (Trevor) and Vivian (Stephen); seven great granddaughters: Hope, Katherine, Angela, Eliza, Mariska, Alicia and Adrienne; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her parents: Harold and Emelia Davis; brothers: Russell and Horace; and sisters: Vivian and Sylvia. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 22nd, at 2:00 p.m. from St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church, Curling Street with Reverend Karen Laldin officiating. The interment will follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Mary’s Church Memorial Fund.
