MELVIN GEORGE FROUD Corner Brook, NL August 25, 1940 - November 23, 2011 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Melvin George Froud announce his sudden passing on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 71 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 49 years Vera (nee Dawe); children: Wayne (Dale) Froud and Jo-ann, Corner Brook; “Poppy’s Girls” Leah and Emma Froud; sisters and brothers-in-law: Sheila Froud, Elizabeth (Harold) Crocker, Edward (Shirley) Dawe all of Corner Brook, Franklin “Butch” (Anna) Dawe, Thompson, Manitoba and Jerry (Sharon) Dawe, Steady Brook; special friend Dave Targett, Corner Brook; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his son Richard, 1973, parents Ben and Kate Froud, brother Ben Froud, parents-in-law Frank and Eva Dawe. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Friday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 26 at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Citadel, Clarence Street with Majors Raymond and Laura Janes officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House.
