Mary Elizabeth Dunphy June 26, 1932 - November 28, 2011 Corner Brook, NL It Is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary E. Dunphy announces her passing on Monday, November 28th, 2011 at the Palliative Care Unit at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 79 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are children: Jason (Jeannie), St. John’s, Lori (Calvin) Newhook, Mt. Pearl, Jeannine Dunphy, Mt Pearl and darling Sandy Dunphy (Jamie), Corner Brook; grandchildren: Nicole, Alysha, Alex, Trevor, Heidi, Kiera, Gracie, Sam, Jay, Eli and Brodie; loving & caring sister and brother-in-law: Jean and Carl Mercer, Steady Brook; special and dear friends: Isabel Kaj, Rose Taylor and Janet Manuel; brothers and sisters-in-law: Raymond Dunphy, Halifax, NS, Ronald & Dorothy Dunphy, Corner Brook, Mary T. Dunphy, Edmonton, AB, Doreen M. Fitzpatrick, St. John’s; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by husband, Alex, 1999; parents: Walter & Grace Burton and brother: John C. Fisher-Burton Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 1st at 2:00 p.m. from the First United Church, Park Street. Reverend Myles Vardy officiating. The interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit, WMR Hospital or to the Newfoundland and Labrador Heart and Stroke Foundation.
