It is with great sadness that the family of the late Dorothy June (Bannister) Hanley announce her passing on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 69 years. Dorothy’s boys were her joy, family meant everything to Dorothy and she was happiest when her family were all together. She didn’t hesitate to reach out to anyone she knew who needed someone to talk too and was always ready to give encouragement. Dorothy had a wide circle of wonderful friends whom she loved dearly and kept in contact with over the years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her sons: Scott, British Columbia and Christopher (Jody), Ontario; grandchildren: Ryan, Madison and Brett; sister Geraldine (Thomas) Smith, Ontario; sister-in-law Eva Bannister; nieces: Keely (Bobby), Lana (Gord) and Jacqueline (Phil); nephews: Terry (Gail), Paul and Jeffrey (Angela); great-nieces: Chelsey, Shaelynn, Gina and Sabella; great-nephews: Jon-Michael, Nathan and Gabriel; great-great niece and nephew: Tiana and Jack; special friends Sylvia Boardman and Isabel Dunphy; home care worker Tracy Blanchard; as well as a large circle of many friends. She was predeceased by her parents Georgina and Bond Bannister, daughter Gina Hanley and brother Jack Bannister. There will be no formal visitation. A memorial service will he held on Thursday, April 26 at 2:00 p.m. from All Saints’ Anglican Church, Clarence Street with Rev. Tanya White officiating. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to All Saints’ Anglican Church Memorial Fund or a charity of one’s choice. The family guest book may be signed or a memorial donation may be made through our website www.fillatre.ca.
