On July 27, 2012 Alfred (Fred) Ryan of St. George’s, NL unexpectedly passed away. Fred is survived by his wife Cindy; children Devon and Katelyn; parents Cecil & Mary Ryan; sisters: Sharon (Garry) Terakita, Rosemary (Bill) Forsey, Sarah (Nelson) White, Gertrude (Robert) Kavanaugh, Colleen Ryan, Elizabeth (Andre) Perrier; brothers: Cecil Jr. (Shirley), James (Miki); mother & father-in law Alex & Catherine (Kitty) Bennett; sister-in-law Cherie (Waltie) Zelau and their children Alexandra & Evan; brothers-in-law: Troy Bennett (Wendy), Jeremy Bennett (Cheryl); good friend Mark Hobbs as well as a large circle of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews other family and friends. Fred will be sadly missed as a loving husband, doting and devoted father, son, brother, son-in-law, brother-in-law and a dedicated friend and work colleague. He was a respected Conservation Officer and an avid outdoorsman. Fred passed away while doing one of his most loved pursuits, a fly fishing trip with a co-worker and good friend Sheldon Anstey. Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, West St., Stephenville Crossing, NL on Tuesday from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 p.m. and St. Joseph’s Parish, St. George’s on Wednesday from 2 – 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. from where the Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. with Father John Collins officiating. Interment will follow in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Court House Road, St. George's. Cremation at the Humber Valley Crematorium will take place after the visitation at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, on Tuesday. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers donations to the Bay St. George Sick Children’s Foundation would be graciously appreciated. The family guest book may be signed or a memorial donation may be made through our website www.fillatre.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing.
