Passed peacefully away on Sunday, August 19, 2012, Wallace Bennett Butler at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Facility at the age of 86 years. Waiting on the other side to greet him was his daughter Ina (Butler) Saunders and his dog Lady. Wallace was also met by his father and mother Leslie and Grace Butler, his siblings Ted and Llewellyn and his sister Barbara Gilbert. Left to mourn his loving and devoted wife of 64 years Hazel (Paul); his pride and joy sons: Harvey (Gail) and Gary (Elaine) all of Pasadena; daughter Yvette (Stephen) Ransier of Corner Brook; his grandchildren: whom he loved dearly Tara Butler (Dion Coish), Gander, Erin Butler (Darryl), PEI, Cory (Claudette) Saunders, Craig (Kelly) Saunders both of Windsor, Ont., Shelley Saunders of Halifax, Jennifer (Cory) Wight, Jayme Lee Butler both of Pasadena, Shawn Rideout and Jeff Rideout of CBS; great-grandchildren: Meghan and Norah Coish, Xavier and Rogue Saunders, Jack and Luke Saunders; brothers: John Butler, Saskatchewan and John (Jack) and Neta Butler, Corner Brook; sisters-in-law: Lillian Butler, Corner Brook, Alice Jordan, BC and Kitty Paul, Come By Chance; brothers-in-law: Lewis (Bride) Paul, Come By Chance and Frank (Regina) Paul, Come By Chance; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his mother-in-law Charlotte (Paul) Allen, father-in-law William Paul, step-father-in-law Alex Allen, brothers-in-law Burt Jordan, Burt Paul, Harvey Paul and William Lewis Gilbert and sister-in-law Lenora Butler. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday 10-12 noon. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 22 at 2:00 p.m. from All Saints Anglican Church, Clarence Street with Rev. Tanya White officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society.
