It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joseph Anderson announce his passing at LeGrow Health Centre in Port Aux Basques on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the age of 84 years. He was born at Ford's Island, Port-aux-Basques. He was the son of the late Henry and Maude Anderson. He leaves to mourn: sister Susie Gale, Clarke's Beach(formerly of Cape Anquille); sister in law Doris Anderson, Cape Anquille; special friends: Shelley Coffin,Port aux Basques, Sharon, Dave, and Jennifer Carroll,Pasadena; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by brothers: Martin (1949), Fred (1991), Hubert (1996), and George (2008); infant sisters: Debora (1916) and Julie (1935); and brother in law Thomas P. Gale (1997.) Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home in Port Aux Basques on Friday between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place at St. James Anglican Church on Saturday, August 25th, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Hannah Dicks officiating. Interment to follow at the church cemetery, Barachois Hill. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted.
