Departed this life on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook at the age of 84. Predeceased, in 1998, by the love of his life, Lily Louise (Norris) after 47 wonderful years of marriage. He was born in Wesleyville, Bonavista Bay in 1928. Predeceased by his parents Frederick and Lavinia; brother: Alex (Ella); sisters: Neta, Alicia Brown and Millicent (Robert) Granter. He will be forever missed by his children: Wayne (Jean), Valleyfield; Calvin, St. John’s; Beverley (Warwick) Burridge, Kitchener, ON; grandchildren: Tabitha (Jason) Burridge-MacDonald, Port Elgin, ON., Stephen Burridge (Shawn), Canberra, Aus., Shannon (Jerry) Knee, Gander; Sheena Best (Jason), Grand Falls-Windsor and Sean Best (Johanna), Vancouver, BC; great grandchildren: Lily Knee and Kate Burridge-MacDonald; brothers: Bill (Neta), St. John’s, Gladstone (Audrey), Wesleyville, Fred (Louise), Clarenville, Albert (Marguerite), Wesleyville and Bob (Daphne), St. John’s; sisters: Joyce, Mount Pearl, Marcella (Major William) Hopkins, St. John’s, Irene (Walter) Jacobs, Badger’s Quay; brother-in-law: Bax Brown, St. John’s; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends. Visitation will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue, Corner Brook on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, September 18th at 11:00 A.M. from Humber United Church with Reverend Fran Ota and Reverend Clayton Parsons officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers or donations to the Parkinson’s Society graciously accepted.
