The family of the late Ellen White announce her passing at Palliative Care, Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Tuesday, October 23rd, 2012 in her 82nd year. Ellen was the last remaining child of the late James Dormody and Elizabeth (nee Barry). She will be sadly missed by her loving and devoted husband of 60 years, William and their children: Derrick Dormody (Ellen), Roderick White (Brenda), Sharon (Kevin Barnes), Anastasia (Derrick Parsons), Nicholas White (Linda) and Monty White (Tracey); grandchildren: Danny Dormody (Alicia Christopher), Jim Dormody (Kathy), Kathleen Dormody (Trevor Perry), Rod White (Rebecca), Ken White (Danielle), Jamie White (Melissa), Jennifer Barnes (Andrew Standen), Jonathan Barnes (Julia Campbell), Chad Parsons, Matthew White, Christopher White, Nikki White, Nicole White, Jordan White & Emily White; 9 great grandchildren. Sisters-in-law: Bernice Dormody, Leonce Dormody, Olive White, Christina (Harry Marshler) and Cecilia (Guy Gallant); brothers-in-law: John White (Denise), Edward White (Rose), Murdock White Jr. (Marie), Bernard White (Leona) & Gorman Green, as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Ellen was predeceased by sisters: Kathleen Sparrow, Margaret Cammie, Frances Donahue, and Eileen Wayson; brothers James, Edward, Richard and Ralph Dormody; sisters-in-law Maude Dormody and Bernice Green; brothers-in-law Edward White, Ronald White, Gerry Sparrow, William Cammie, Frank Donahue and William Wayson, mother and father-in-law Murdock Sr. White and Julia (nee: McCarthy). The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 26th at 10:30 a.m. from Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic church in Benoits Cove, Father Edmund Camacho officiating, followed by the interment at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to Alzheimers Association or Our Lady Star of the Sea Cemetery Fund.
