James William
Vatcher
Steady Brook, NL
With great sadness, the family of James William Vatcher announce his peaceful passing on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at the age of 54 years surrounded by loved ones. His unsurpassed love for his family was complemented by his lifelong passion for hunting, fishing, and trips to the cabin.
Left to celebrate Jim’s life is his loving wife and best friend of 36 years Levinia (Locke), daughter Lisa (Bobby) Davis who has her father’s eyes; his son Jamie (Sara) who has his father’s walk, his precious grandchildren: Kaitlyn who shares her poppy’s love for the cabin, Tristan who loves to hunt with his BB gun (a gift from pop); Jessica who has his talent for telling a good story, and Jada who always reminded poppy that her favorite color is yellow, his mother Marjorie, sister, Deborah (Garry) Janes, and brothers Derek and Murray (Maureen). He will forever be remembered as a wonderful brother-in-law by Frank (Marilyn) Locke; Eugene Sooley, Marie (Donald) Brinson, Bruce (Deborah) Locke, Roy (Donna) Locke, Mildred (Ronald) Shanahan, Wanda (Michael) Mooney, Allison (Paul) Neville, Ida (Rod) Upshall. He leaves with fond memories a large circle of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends. He loved them all.
James is predeceased by his father, Oscar Calvin Vatcher, in-laws Pearl and Raymond Locke and sister-in-law Myra Sooley with whom he had a bond only the two of them could share.
Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 3rd at 11:00 AM from the First United Church, Park Street.
