It is with great sadness that the family of the late William Cox announce his passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the age of 79 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Josie of 57 years; sons: Alvin (Eva) and Clifford (Grace) of Cambridge, Ontario, Rudy of Alberta; daughter Marina (Bob) of Cambridge, Ontario; 8 grandchildren: Niki, Chantelle, Bronson, Chelsey, Heather, Brett, Crystal and Tammy (Mario); 4 great-grandchildren: Dominik, Zachery, Nevaeh and Ella; brothers: Luke and Ralph (Jean); sisters: Amy Murrin and Clara House; special nephews: Ross, Keith and Bill; sisters and brothers-in-law: Geraldine, Edgar (Beatrice), Melvin (Shirley), Warrick (Audrey), Una (Bob), Abby (Thelma), Ira (Maxine), Verna (Arthur), Wanda (Ivan), Vida (Paul), Bernard (Yvonne), Bill (Una), Floyd (Tania), Randy (Connie) and Dallas; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents George and Margaret Cox, sisters Edna, Martha, Alfreda, Eileen, brother Walter, father and mother-in-law Stephen and Lillian Payne, sisters and brothers-in-law Bonnie (Jack), Elizabeth, Margie, Bridie, Dot, Alpheus, Stedman, Cyril, Reginald, Tom, Stewart, Crawford and Edmund. A special thank you to Doctors and Nurses at the Palliative Care Unit, Western Memorial Regional Hospital for all their support and care. Friends may visit St. Nicholas’ Anglican Church in Cox’s Cove on Friday 7-9 p.m. Granting his wishes cremation will take place at Humber Valley Crematorium. A memorial service will be held at St. Nicholas’ Anglican Church, Cox’s Cove on Sunday, January 6 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Charlene Laing officiating. Interment to follow at the Church Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue, Corner Brook.
