It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gerald Knott announce his passing in Port Aux Basques on Monday, January 7, 2013. He was the son of the late Thomas and Catherine Knott (Courtney). He is predeceased by daughter Catherine in 1966. He leaves to mourn his wife of 48 years, Marion (Dalton) and children: Tom (Judy), Jim (Candice) and Sonja (Steve); grandchildren: Taylor, Mallory, Erica and Brian; one sister: Anastasia and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Gerald retired after 23 years in the Royal Canadian Navy and then proceeded to work in various fields including the Canadian Coast Guard, Federal Department of Fisheries and Bell Canada. He was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 40 years. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, January 12th, 2013 at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Codroy, with Reverend Billard officiating. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port Aux Basques.
